The following ultrasounds require advance preparation:

– If your test is after 1 p.m. : Fast for 4 to 6 hours before the test. You may, however, take any medication with a minimum amount of water. Do not eat fatty foods in the morning. For example, you can eat a light breakfast, such as oatmeal with fruit, bread with jam, or a gluten-intolerant equivalent.
Simultaneous Abdominal and Pelvic:
Do not eat 4 to 6 hours before the examination, but drink 3 cups (750ml) of water or other liquid 1 hour before your examination, and do not urinate until the exam is over. Bladder must be full.

The patient must bring the CD and the report for the mammogram the day of the exam.
